Mattie Banks

Mattie Lee Childs Banks died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, at the Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans.  Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Gallilee Baptist Church in New Orleans. Louisiana Undertaking Company is in charge of the Louisiana arrangements. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Inspirational Community Baptist Church with burial to follow in Union Cemetery in Plantersville. Grayson-Porter's Mortuary of Tupelo is in charge of local arrangements.  Survivors include one daughter, Nevery Boother of New Orleans; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Banks; six children; and her parents, Nelson and Lilly Bee Childs.
